3 condos, 3 mobile homes, 40 single family homes and 1 “Other” were reported sold this past week in Anderson County.
The “other” is a Hartwell Lake lot with a dock and the sale appears to include an RV and a storage building. A different type of property without a doubt.

The average days on market of the homes reported sold this past week was 61 days.
This is only the basics of what happened last week in Anderson County real estate.
Least Expensive Home Reported Sold
The least expensive home reported sold this week was a 1500 SF 3 bedroom 1 bath house on 0.31 acres in the city limits of Anderson.
It sold for $24,500 CASH after being on the market for 77 days. Originally hit the market at $35,900.
Located in the 29625 Zip Code and the New Prospect Elementary, Lakeside Middle, Westside High school district per MLS listing.
Cute house but located in an area that many buyers are not going to like…
50 plus years old with wood exterior on crawl space. Composition shingle roof. Public sewer and water.
Under heat and cooling system type it says “Other – See Remarks” but the remarks do mention anything about the HVAC. Either it has none or it does not work.
The remarks DO say the home needs work and is being sold AS-IS. The seller has never lived in the property so this may have been an investment / rental property.
While the price could fool some into thinking this is a bargain, the location REALLY hurts the home. And in real estate is location, location, location!
Most Expensive Home Reported Sold
The most expensive home reported sold this week was a 3300 SF 4 bedroom 3 bath home on 225 acres in Anderson. Anderson address but most would say this property is in Starr…
It sold for $1,335,000 after being on the market for 81 days. Originally hit the market at $1,499,000.
Located in the 29626 Zip Code and the Starr Elementary, Starr-Iva Middle, Crescent High school district per MLS listing.
Very nice looking home with brick and masonite siding exterior. Architectural shingle, tile and metal roofing. The heat is a mixture of propane gas and electric with central forced cooling. Public water and private well.
2 car attached garage plus 1500 SF multi-purpose building with all utility hookups, kitchen area, full bath and a bedroom. And a 40X90 equipment shed.
The home has plenty of privacy with gated entrance and sits far off the road hidden from view. The home sits on a hill overlooking 120 acres of cleared land with a good view of the 2 acre stocked pond.
The open area is fenced and could be used for cattle or horses. The wooded portion is mature timber consisting of pine, popular and oaks.
Covered concrete porch with tongue and groove pine ceiling and rock pit.
The home has heart of pine floors. Great room with vaulted tongue and groove pine ceiling and rock fireplace. Wood burning stove in the dining room. Custom barn wood cabinets and stainless steel appliances in the kitchen.
Main level master suite has walk in closet, garden tub, walk in shower and attached sunroom/study.
When this home hit the market, I said to myself that if I could, I would. The home sits in the perfect location on the property with a big pond, 2000 feet of creek frontage , plenty of privacy but huge cleared area surrounding the home.
Sold Deal of the Week in Anderson County
The best deal in my opinion of the sold listings this week was the most expensive listing reported sold. There were quite a few other good deals.
A very nice home sitting in the middle of 200 plus acres of mostly fenced, flat pasture is very hard to find. Was it a little high or pricey to be considered a great deal?
But there simply are not that many homes of this quality sitting in the middle of land this nice in Anderson County. There are nice homes on acreage but often they are not situated with total privacy in mind…
Foreclosures and Short Sales
3 of the homes reported sold this past week were foreclosures.
None of the homes reported sold this past week was a short sale.
Today there are 20 foreclosed homes for sale in Anderson County.
Today there are 7 homes listed as a short sale in Anderson County.

This Week’s Hot New Listing
The best deal of this week’s new listings in my opinion is a 1514 SF 3 bedroom 2 bath house on 0.55 acres in Anderson.
Hit the market at $119,900.
Located in the 29625 Zip Code and the Centerville Elementary, Robert Anderson Middle, Westside High school district.
No exact age in MLS or tax records but over 30 years old. Brick ranch with attached 2 car garage. Architectural shingle roof. Gas pack heat and central forced cooling. Public water and sewer per MLS listing.
Carpet, ceramic tile and hardwood flooring. Formal living room. Fireplace in the kitchen/keeping room. Updated bathroom in the master suite.
Foreclosure but appears to be in move in condition. Good price for a home of this size/quality in convenient location. On a busy road however…
25 homes were reported as going under contract (Pending) this week in Anderson County.
Currently there are 151 homes in the MLS with an Under Contract (Pending) status.
