This is only the basics of what happened last week in Anderson County real estate.
Least Expensive Home Reported Sold
The least expensive home reported sold this week was a 989 SF 2 bedroom 1 bath house on about 0.27 acres.
It sold for $19,000 CASH after being on the market for 8 days. Originally hit the market at $29,500.
Located in the 29624 Zip Code and the Homeland Park Elementary, Southwood Middle, Westside High school district per MLS listing.
Cute house for the money. Heat pump. The kitchen is painted yellow and purple…
Listing description says it needs some CL-100 work so it either has termites or high moisture levels in the crawl space.
Most Expensive Home Reported Sold
The most expensive home reported sold this week was a 2495 SF 4 bedroom 2 bath house on 0.45 acres in Easley. Easley address but it IS in Anderson County.
It sold for $270,000 after being on the market for 96 days. Originally hit the market at $284,900.
Located in the 29642 Zip Code and the Powdersville Elementary, Powdersville Middle, Powdersville High school district per MLS listing.
1 level home with hardwood, carpet and ceramic tile floors. Architectural shingle roof. Attached 2 car garage. In ground pool. Master suite has walk in closet. Kitchen has custom cabinets and granite counter tops. Fenced back yard.
Lots of buyers want the Powdersville area because it is so convenient to Anderson, Easley or Greenville.
Sold Deal of the Week in Anderson County
The best deal in my opinion of the sold listings this week was a 2065 SF 3 bedroom 2.5 bath house on 2.08 acres in Easley. Once again, it IS in Anderson County despite the Easley address.
It sold for $75,297 CASH after being on the market for 39 days. Originally hit the market at $114,900.
Located in the 29642 Zip Code and the Hunt Meadows Elementary, Wren Middle, Wren High school district per MLS listing.
This home was a short sale and had been off and on the market for almost 2 years if you include the previous listing with the same agent/company.
A short sale is when the seller is trying to sell the home for less than they owe on the mortgage. The lender must agree to do this and this is NOT the best option for most buyers.
It can be frustrating to say the least. But as you can see by the sold price, it can be a good way to get a bargain. However, you must also notice that the buyer paid cash.
It is quite possible that the home would not finance OR the lender would ONLY agree to a cash sale.
Only 2 pictures in the MLS. 2 story home with 2 car attached garage. In ground pool. Fireplace in the great room. Master suite on main level with walk in closet. Central HVAC.

This Week’s Hot New Listing
The best deal of this week’s new listings in my opinion is a brick 1600 +/- SF 3 bedroom 2 bath house on about 0.45 acres in the city limits of Anderson.
Hit the market at $17,500
Located in the 29621 Zip Code and the Nevitt Forest Elementary, McCants Middle, Hanna High school district per MLS listing.
2 car attached carport plus detached 2 car garage/shop. New roof. HVAC only 6 years old. New vinyl windows. Fresh paint. Fireplace.
The bathrooms and some of the home is dated but still an excellent price for the size/area/school district.
