Deal of the Week
In my opinion, the best deal of the homes sold this week in Anderson County was a 4100 SF 3 bedroom 3 bath home on 3.3 acres in Anderson. It sold for $227,000 after being on the market for 180 days. Originally listed at $382,900. This home was a short sale.
A short sale is when the seller owes more for the home than the sale price. So that means the bank holding the mortgage has to also agree to the sale price/terms. And some banks are very bad about handling short sales. Short sales can be a very frustrating and long process. While short sales are better than they used to be, buyers need to understand the pitfalls of buying a short sale.

The best deal in my opinion of this week’s new listings in Anderson County is a 3 bedroom 2 bath home with about 1300 SF on 21 acres in Iva that hit the market at $153,777. 100X180 riding arena with lights, 24X36 steel shop building, 28X48 steel barn w/12X24 rack room & 3 stalls. 18X20 carport and a 12X16 outbuilding with power. The house is not the most attractive but once you add up all the other stuff it becomes apparent this is a good price.
