If you are thinking about selling a home, then one great place to look at improving is your doors…
I am sure if you have read this blog for any length of time, you know how much I like suggesting paint when getting a home ready to sell. Great bang for the buck! There are other things that someone selling a home in Upstate South Carolina can do that might cost more but will also help.
I just read the latest figures according to the Remodeling 2012–13 Cost vs. Value Report (www.costvsvalue.com) and noticed that replacing doors has a great return.
They call it Cost Recouped which means how much you will get back from how much you spend. Check out the statistics for replacing doors in the Southeast:
- Entry Door Replacement (steel) 85.6%
- Garage Door Replacement 75.7%
- Entry Door Replacement (fiberglass) 65.9%
Sadly there are NOT any improvements you can make that will get 100% of the money you spent back. But getting more of your money back while making your home more attractive to buyers is great!
Nothing is going to ever beat using good old fashioned elbow grease and cleaning your home. And getting rid of all the clutter will not cost you much money other than renting some place to store it.
Curb appeal is so important when selling a home. This is why having nice doors will help to ease buyers minds before they even set foot inside your home.
And paint is hard to beat when it comes to the bang for the buck.
Anyone selling a home ( in Anderson or anywhere else ) should take a long hard look at their doors.
