And a great man is the reason why…
Normally I post weekly market updates every Sunday. I try to do this so it will go out with that week’s email news letter. But this week, these posts were a day late.
And for a really good reason.
On Sunday, I attended my Uncle’s funeral.
His death was both unexpected and yet, not a total surprise.
He had been fighting various health issues for some time but no one expected his sudden passing.
The funeral took place at his church and that was probably a good thing.
Most funeral homes are not big enough to hold the crowd that came to pay their respects.
So why did so many people attend my Uncle’s funeral?
Positive Attitude
Even as my Uncle fought for his life, he never let it get him down.
Everyone talked about how positive he was even when faced with his own mortality.
He maintained the same positive attitude.
Some mentioned how he always had a smile.
Or talked about his many different funny stories and great sense of humor.
Part of what made me think my Uncle was a great man was his personality, attitude and sense of humor.
Obviously, I am not alone in thinking this…
A Hard Road to Travel
I wish that I could share with my cousins some way to deal with the pain of losing their Father.
I know they will be OK.
It won’t be easy and it will not happen over night.
They will be OK despite the tremendous pain they feel now.
After all, they inherited all the stuff that made my Uncle’s funeral…
